- Digital Signage
Internet Protocol television (IPTV) is a system through which television services are delivered using the Internet Protocol (IP) suite over LAN/Internet, instead of delivering through traditional means. Unlike downloaded media, IPTV offers the ability to stream the media in smaller batches, directly from the source. IPTV services may be classified into:
- Live Television, with or without interactivity with the current TV show
- Time-shifted Television: Catch-up TV (replays an already broadcast TV show) or Start-over TV (replays the TV show from the beginning)
- Video On demand (VOD): Browse a catalogue of videos, not related to TV programming
Depending on the network architecture of the service provider, there are two main types of video server architecture that can be considered for IPTV deployment: centralised and distributed. While centralised architecture model is a simple and easy-to-manage solution where contents are stored in centralized servers, distributed architecture has inherent system management features that are essential for managing a larger server network. NO NEED
SMATV stands for Satellite Master Antenna Television, and refers to a system that uses multiple satellite and broadcast signals to create a single integrated cable signal for distribution to a cabling network.
To set up SMATV, we at SMERK install a satellite dish and TV antennae to receive programming from satellite providers and local broadcast networks. These antennae feed into several racks of electronic equipment which tunes into the channels you choose for your cable lineup, and combines them into a single cable signal.
Digital signs are a sub segment of signage that use technologies such as LCD, LED and Projection to display content such as digital images, video, streaming media, and information and can be found in public spaces, transportation systems, stadiums, retail stores, hotels and corporate buildings.
SMERK’s Digital Signage displays use content management systems and digital media distribution systems that can either be run from personal computers and servers or regional/national media hosting providers. Apart from this, our solutions enable “digital out of home” advertising wherein video content, advertisements and messages are displayed on digital signs to deliver targeted messages, to specific locations/consumers, at specific times.
